Our One-Day Workshops are single-day special events, usually featuring a particular technique or medium.
These may either be a full-day workshop or only a half-day.

Gain an Introduction to Color Mixing in this 3 hour workshop!
In this class we will learn the concepts of color mixing and theory; after studying the color wheel, we will put our knowledge into practice by constructing Color Charts.
Through this exercise we will learn how to manipulate your paints to create any color we want, how to work with a limited palette vs an expanded palette, and most of all, how to get the most out of your Oil Paints.

Learn the basics of sketching the human form in this 3-hour workshop!
In this class we will learn the fundamentals of constructing the human form; we will begin with a lecture and demo on the basic structure of the torso, arms, legs & head, and then put our knowledge to practice through sketching. Additional topics will be how to include gesture and movement, how to capture proportions and body-type, and some light introduction to anatomy.
This class is an excellent introduction for anyone interested in drawing the human form.
PLEASE NOTE: This class will work from images of the human body; some reference material may contain nudity. Must be 18 years or older to participate, or have parental approval.

Open to Drawing or Painting students! Join us for this half-day workshop focusing on the secrets to capturing one of the trickiest subjects in portraiture: Hair.
Through a series of exercises we will explore the often missed “structure” of hair, and study different textures including straight, wavy, and curly hair.
For those working in paint, we will also touch on how to achieve challenging hair colors, such as Red or Blonde hair.

Learn how to capture the human form in oil paints.
In this immersive one-day workshop, participants will learn the fundamentals of painting the human figure using oil paints. Through guided demonstrations and hands-on practice from reference photos, students will explore essential techniques including proportion, gesture, value, and color mixing for skin tones.
As this is a full day workshop, there will be a break from 12:30 - 1:30 for students to have lunch. Please bring a lunch or check out the many restaurants nearby.

Cancelation Policy:
If the studio should be responsible for the cancelation of a class, the class will be rescheduled and the student will have the option to receive a full refund, or to apply the credits to another class.
Due to the limited availability of spaces, as well as the processing fees involved in payment methods, we cannot issue refunds for cancelations made by the students more than 48 hours after a registration. We apologize for this inconvenience, and ask that you please check the dates carefully to verify your availability before registering for a class.
